Tikigaq School·Point HopeThe North Slope Borough School District and Office of the Superintendent want to remind you of the following Halloween costume guidelines as we approach Halloween festivities and celebrations:
To ensure all students enjoy Halloween events and adhere to School Board Policy, no toy weapons of any description are permitted to be part of any Halloween costume or decor, nor are any graphic or violent images permitted to be part of costumes, which includes fake blood stained clothing.
Please note that this is not a “ban on scary costumes,” rather just ensuring that we are consistent with board policy and limiting gore that might be disturbing to some students.
Sincerely,
The North Slope Borough School District3

North Slope Borough School District·WainwrightView organization ›CSAC DECLARATIONS DUE TODAY BY 4:00 PM
NSBSD encourages community members across the North Slope to consider serving on their local Community School Advisory Council (CSAC).
We especially encourage residents of Wainwright and Atqasuk to submit a Declaration of Candidacy. At this time, we have not received any declarations from these two communities. Both communities have multiple open CSAC seats.
Serving on your CSAC is an opportunity to be involved with your local school and help strengthen the connection between the school, families, and community. CSAC members provide an important local voice and help bring community needs and concerns forward.
All communities are encouraged to submit declarations before the deadline today, September 29, at 4:00 p.m.
Declaration of Candidacy forms are available at your local school office and must be returned to the school office by the deadline.
Please consider stepping forward to serve your school and community. Your involvement matters.1 share

Alak School·WainwrightOur fifth graders put on their engineering hats and built bridges! They tested the weight today with Ms. Hedges.
The bridge that held the most weight was team "Unbreak-a-bridge". Their bridge held 97.5lbs before breaking. Golden State came in second with a bridge that held 68.5lbs.
Great job 5th grade! 👷♀️👷♂️162 shares
