State of Alaska Heating Assistance (LIHEAP and Alaska Affordable Heating Program)

One-time yearly help with heating costs (LIHEAP up to 150% of poverty; AAHP 150-225%). The 2026-2027 application is available after September 1; grants begin the first working day of October; regular heating help is accepted through April 30. Crisis assistance (out of fuel, disconnect or eviction) is accepted September 1 to June 30. Submit by mail or in person to a Public Assistance office, fax 888-269-6520, or email hss.dpa.offices@alaska.gov; DPA line 800-478-7778. This is a statewide line, region-wide (not Bristol Bay specific).
