Pediatric Services and ADHD Screenings Available at SSMH and Village Clinics
Original post
October is ADHD Awareness Month! Every child learns, grows, and shines in their own unique way. This month, we recognize the strengths, creativity, and potential of children living with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) while also encouraging families to seek support when concerns arise. In Alaska, an estimated 9.5% of children ages 4-17 currently have an ADHD diagnosis, highlighting the importance of awareness and early identification. If your child is experiencing challenges with attention, focus, impulsivity, organization, or hyperactivity, know that you are not alone. Early screening can help families better understand their child's needs and connect them with resources that support success at home, in school, and in the community. SSMH offers preliminary ADHD screenings upon request. Taking the first step today can make a meaningful difference tomorrow.
