Northwest Arctic Borough Search & Rescue (SAR) assistance

The Northwest Arctic Borough's Office of Emergency Management coordinates Search & Rescue assistance for travelers on the land, ice, or water across the region. For an active emergency call 9-1-1; for SAR assistance or to report an overdue traveler, call the Borough's SAR line. The Borough posts weather hazard advisories (high surf, high wind, etc.) and reminds residents to leave a travel plan with someone before heading out.
