Ketchikan Indian Community (KIC) is the federally recognized tribe in Ketchikan, governed by an elected Tribal Council. Main administration and the KIC Tribal Health Clinic (medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy) are at 2960 Tongass Avenue - main line and medical appointments 907-228-4900, toll-free 800-252-5158, after-hours emergency line 907-228-9499, Behavioral Health 907-228-9203. Social Services, Elder Services and General Assistance are at 201 Deermount Street (907-228-9446); Elders' rides and meal RSVPs 907-247-RIDE (7433). Education & Training (employment and training, post-secondary, youth, language and culture) is at 615 Stedman Street (907-228-9365). The KIC Housing Authority is at 429 Deermount Street (907-228-9222). KIC also runs the area's cold-weather shelter and is developing a tribally led Community Healing & Wellness Center at the former Salmon Falls Resort (phased openings announced for 2026).
