Free Fire & Life Safety home walkthrough (KFD Fire Marshal)

Any homeowner or tenant in Ketchikan can request a free Fire & Life Safety walkthrough of their home from the Ketchikan Fire Department, Office of the Fire Marshal. No fee, and no citations for a first-time issue. Aimed at homes with basement apartments, in-law suites or rentals; KFD's Homeowner Fire Safety Self-Check covers smoke alarms in every sleeping room, furnace/wood-stove clearance, shared walls and doors, egress windows, a 5 lb 2A:10B:C extinguisher on every level, and CO alarms.
