California Indian Legal Services — Bishop office legal help
The Bishop office of California Indian Legal Services (CILS) runs two local programs. The Eastern Sierra Legal Assistance Program gives free civil legal assistance to eligible residents of Inyo, Mono and Alpine counties. The Inyo-Mono Senior Legal Program gives free elder law services to Inyo and Mono residents age 60 and older. Unlike other CILS offices, the Bishop office is not limited to Native American clients. Call 760-873-3581 (toll-free 800-736-3582) for intake; staff decide whether you qualify and whether they can take the case. CILS does not represent people in ongoing criminal cases.
