Bethel Friends of Canines (BFK9) — dog & cat rescue, adoption, fostering
Bethel Friends of Canines is an all-volunteer nonprofit (since 2011) that rescues and rehomes dogs and cats from Bethel and villages across the Y-K Delta, runs low-cost spay/neuter clinics and gives out dog houses. Adoption fee is $250; adopters must be 21+, have suitable housing and complete an adoption application — animals are matched, not first-come. Fostering is free (food, crate, vet care supplied) but only for homes in Bethel. Volunteers help with dog walking, Saturday Market tables, transport, fundraising and dog-house delivery. Contact bethelfriendsofcanines2011@gmail.com or 907-707-7010; mail P.O. Box 3167, Bethel, AK 99559.
