Bethel Fire Department — volunteer firefighter / EMT program

The Bethel Fire Department recruits volunteer firefighters, EMTs and admin/logistics helpers. You must be 18+, have a diploma or GED, fill out the volunteer application (online JotForm, or paper from the station at 320 Chief Eddie Hoffman Hwy), attach a $20 Interested Persons Report from Alaska State Troopers (3200 Chief Eddie Hoffman Hwy, 907-543-2294) and a $10 DMV driver history report, copies of your AK license/ID and any CPR/EMT/fire certificates and vaccination records, then interview with the Chief, pass a basic agility test and complete a recruitment class. Training is free and mostly accredited through UAF Kuskokwim Campus; required vaccinations/TB tests are provided at no cost. Questions: 907-543-2131 or fire@cityofbethel.net.
