Cama-i Dance Festival (Cama'i)

Cama-i is Bethel's three-day Yup'ik dance (yuraq) festival every spring, with dance groups from across the Y-K Delta and guest performers, a Native arts and crafts vendor hall, workshops and the Miss Cama'i pageant, held at the Yupiit Piciryarait Cultural Center / Bethel Regional High School area at 420 Chief Eddie Hoffman Hwy. It is run by the Southwest Alaska Arts Group (SWAAG, formerly the Bethel Council on the Arts). SWAAG has posted 'Save the date' for Cama'i 2027: April 2-4, 2027. Vendor tables, volunteers, workshop presenters and Miss Cama'i contestants apply through forms posted on the SWAAG Cama'i page each winter (the 2026 forms are closed); questions to 907-543-4585 or southwestalaskaartsgroup@gmail.com.
