AVCP Child Protection / ICWA - become a foster parent

AVCP's Child Protection (ICWA) department stands with Alaska Native families when a child is in a state OCS case: attending hearings and case meetings, finding relatives for placement, family counseling, family-preservation support, and free legal representation through Alaska Legal Services attorneys. There is a shortage of licensed foster homes in Bethel and the Y-K Delta - anyone with room for a child can call 907-543-8690 to start. ICWA staff email: ICWABethelStaff@avcp.org. To report suspected child abuse or neglect, call the State Office of Children's Services hotline, 1-800-478-4444.
